Lanark is a Scottish town rich in heritage. Situated in the Clyde Valley, South Lanarkshire, it can trace its roots back to medieval times when in 1140 King David 1 granted the town Royal Burgh status.
Each year, Lanark Lanimer Day is held on the Thursday between the 6th and 12th of June; a unique festival and celebration which has been ongoing since the town became a Royal Burgh.
